Children, this is a typewriter. We used to write on them before computers. Yes, there was a time before computers...
I recently read someone's thought that typewriters like this one are in the same category as the fountain pen...lovely antiques...curious where you saw this typewriter...

Great shots! Antique typewriters are a thing of beauty. I am privileged to say that I am of the age that I took a typing class in high school - not a computer class. The clickity clack of my laptop keyboard just doesn't have the same wonderful ring.
