Saturday in downtown Portland, Maine

Sometimes I forget what a neat city Portland, Maine is. (It's the original Portland, by the way. Portland, Maine, was founded in 1623, according to Wikipedia, and incorporated in 1786. Portland, Oregon, was incorporated more than 60 years later, in 1851.) Anyway, Saturday I managed to get downtown for a bit, and luckily I had my camera with me.

My goal was to visit my favorite thrift shop, The Good Cause, now located on Forest Ave. On the way there, the windows of a restaurant called Nakornping Thai caught my eye, and I started snapping. Then I noticed some pretty white dresses in the window of the thrift shop. They reminded me of my First Communion dress, so I had to stop and take a closer look at them. Once inside the store, I spotted a sign for prom gowns, so I had to check them out -- I liked the array of colors and fabrics. Once outside again, I had to stop to look in a gallery window. Are those little heads of babies? Clowns? Baby clowns?

Anyway, it was a beautiful spring-like day (finally!), and I enjoyed my short walk in downtown Portland.
